SECTION 001
Section 001 is a collaborative studio project contributed to by a team of 30 Industrial Design and Architecture students. The project is a set of furniture and objects designed for creative workspaces of the (near) future. My role in the project was the design and building of the TV Media Stand, Creative Direction, Styling, and Photography. All photographs were taken by me.
Below is my process for designing and making the TV Media stand featured as one of the 12 pieces in the collection. The steel foot plates were outsourced to Versteel, who cut, bent, and powder coated them. The woodwork was done by me, and included cutting lamination of MDF, jointing, planing, glueing and routing maple edge banding, design and mounting of the white board print provided by Visual Magnetics, and mounting of the TV Monitor and casters.
I worked with classmates Michael Rice and Adriana Noritz on art direction for the photoshoot set, styled in the block colors of the furniture collection and photographed in full sun to highlight the textures and patterns in the work. All photos were staged, shot, and edited by me.
